Follower of Cleve

May, auction house in Roubaix, France, sells on 22 June 2015 as lot 157 a "Flemish School, 16th century" triptych with the Crucifixion (central), Saint Jerome (right) and another saint (left, probably Saint Francis), central panel 54 by 40 cm, estimated at 4,000 to 6,000 Euro.

A very similar lot is catalogued by the RKD as "Follower of Joos van Cleve" (according to Friedländer) and was for sale in Brussels in 1949. Not only the general composition of the triptych, but more especially the poses of Saint Francis and of Magdalen (with the pronounced Kardashian butt) are obvious reasons to suspect the same painter or at least the same source for both works.
