A painting attributed to Daniel Maclise is for sale at Dyrgripen. No estimate, current highest bid a few Euros. UPDATE: sold for 130 Euro, still cheap if it is a Maclise. The painting is damaged and relatively small, and the pictures are bad, so it is hard to judge whether it is correct (it certainly is believable) and how it compares to the sometimes very expensive Maclises in auctions the past few years (up to $500,000!). But at the current price, it is certainly worth a gamble by any lovers of Maclise, Irish art, or 19th century pathetic historical scenes.
