Copy after Coypel
At Uppsala Auktionskammare, an 18th or 19th century painting by an unknown artist with "Bacchus-motif", estimated at 330 to 430 Euro and with a current bid of some 270 Euro.
It is a good variation of a painting by Noël-Nicolas Coypel, "Venus, Bacchus and the three Graces", which is kept in the Museum of Art and History in Genève. It is a bit unusual to find a copy with such changes, makes one wonder whether an original exists with the same changes. It's not the best painted otherwise, but still should be worth more than the valuation, something closer to 800 Euro probably. UPDATE: sold for 1,600 Euro, way above even my estimate!
