"Flemish Master" is somewhere close to Pieter van Avont

Hampel sells on 7 April 2016 a "Flemish Master" Magdalen, estimated at 6,000 to 8,000 Euro.

A variation of this composition was sold at Sotheby's in 2004 as "Follower of Pieter van Avont" and fetched then 1,800 Euro.

The work for sale resembles the works by Pieter van Avont in many aspects, but is perhaps not good enough to be really by him, so a "Circle of Pieter van Avont" may be appropriate here. But even with a name, it will probably not fetch more than the estimate.
